AI Policy
We use AI every day. Pretending otherwise would be dishonest, and slower. Founders build fast with AI, and we join that flow as the designer. So here's how we use it, plainly.
Where AI Helps
AI is our pirate. It explores, drafts and builds fast:
- exploring directions before we commit to one
- research and first drafts of copy
- building sites, product features and components in code
- auditing code, infrastructure and costs
- the boring parts: resizing, exporting, checking
We use Claude by Anthropic on paid business accounts, with training on your data switched off. We don't train our own models.
Where It Doesn't
AI makes output. It doesn't make decisions. Every direction, every cut, every final touch is ours. A person looks at everything before it reaches you, and nothing goes live on its own. When AI and taste disagree, taste wins.
Inside Your Code
We treat your codebase like our own. With more care, not less.
- every repo gets written rules that every AI agent follows there
- agents never hold your production keys, credentials or passwords
- find a secret in the code? We tell you and help you rotate it
- every change is a pull request a person reviews, and nothing merges or deploys without your go-ahead
- audits are read-only: we report, you decide
Your Data
Public stuff, like your live site and published copy, can go into our AI tools. Your code and internal material go in only for the work you hired us for, on plans that don't train on it. Anything more sensitive needs your yes first. Personal and payment data never goes in. And your work never trains anyone's model.
What You Own
Everything we deliver. We don't pass off a generated mark as a unique logo: every mark is drawn and checked by hand. Fonts, images and code licences are checked before handover.
No Secrets
We tell you where AI was used. Prefer a project without it? You can opt out; it just changes the timeline and the cost. If AI gets something wrong and it reaches you, we log it, fix it and tell you why it happened.
AI gives us speed. Taste decides what ships.
